MESA, COLORADO. A man and a dog stand on the porch of a house that served as the Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph Company exchange building in Mesa. The building is a one-story clapboard structure with a single roof. A wire fence surrounds the yard. METHODIST EPISCOPAL CHURCH, MESA. In 1900, land for a Methodist Episcopal church was donated, and a building was soon erected. It was in continuous use until 1975. A parsonage was built in 1904. In 1941, electricity came to the valley, and in 1952, gas heat was installed in the building. (Stites Collection, Museum of Western Colorado, Lloyd Files Research Library.)
